Warranty terms
1. General rules.
1.1. SIA “C&T Rental”, (hereinafter referred to as the Seller) legal address: Ropažu nov., Ropažu pag., Ropaži, Rīgas iela 14 - 11, LV-2135, Latvia, the purchased product (hereinafter referred to as the Product) is ensured to comply with the terms of the contract (hereinafter referred to as the Warranty) as provided for by law:
- If the product is purchased by a Consumer (a natural person who purchases the product for a purpose that is not related to their business or professional activities), then the Warranty is valid for 24 months (two years) from the date of delivery of the Product in accordance with the Consumer Rights Protection Law.
- If the Product is purchased by a Legal Entity, a person who purchases the Product for purposes related to their business or professional activities, or a natural person who carries out business activities and purchases the Product with the aim of using it in business activities, and the Product is not prohibited from being used for business or professional activities, then the Seller establishes a 12-month Warranty from the date of delivery of the Product. This provision does not reduce the warranty period specified by the Manufacturer for Legal Entities, which is provided after 12 months by the Manufacturer's or distributor's authorized service center (hereinafter - Service).
- The warranty for used and slightly used items is 6 months.
1.3. The product may be covered by a manufacturer's warranty, which may be longer than specified in these terms and conditions. When using the manufacturer's warranty, these warranty terms and conditions, as well as the manufacturer's defined conditions for the validity and use of the warranty, must be observed.
2. When the warranty is valid.
2.1. The warranty does not apply to accessories included in the Product package (accumulators, batteries, connecting cables, vacuum cleaner bags and brushes, bulbs, fuses, filters, oils and lubricants, and other components) that are subject to natural wear and tear during operation or whose periodic replacement is provided for in the terms of use or is reasonably expected, taking into account the normal functionality of the goods (for example, replacement of vacuum cleaner bags, replacement of mowing blades or cord).
2.2. The warranty does not apply in cases where the damage or defect of the Product occurs due to the following reasons:
- The product has been used for purposes other than those intended by the manufacturer;
- The expiration date indicated on the Product packaging or the label attached to the Product has expired;
- Natural wear and tear has occurred (for example, battery life, accumulators, tire wear, wear and tear of shoes, gloves and other clothing, wear and tear of filters, etc.);
- The cause of the non-conformities is improper installation, assembly or installation;
- The cause of the non-conformities is improper preparation of the Product for work or operation (including mechanical damage), without following the instructions of the Product Manufacturer in the Product instructions or Product description;
- Damage from falls, unless the Manufacturer of the Product has specifically stated that the Product is safe against falls;
- Unauthorized repairs have been performed (for example, open housing, disassembled Product parts, mechanisms, etc.), which are not intended to be performed in the daily operation of the Product, and were performed by a person who is not a Service representative;
- It is found that the manufacturer's warranty seal or serial number of the Product is damaged;
- Non-standard power supplies, accessories and spare parts, as well as consumables (cartridges, toners, etc.) that have not been certified by the manufacturer for use with the specified Product have been used, and if this has caused damage to this Product;
- Pirated or inappropriate software used (on computers or mobile phones);
- Regular service maintenance has not been performed (for goods that require it);
- Worn elements have not been replaced in a timely manner, which has caused further damage to the Product;
- The product has been exposed to environmental influences not provided for in the instructions (inappropriate temperature, humidity, natural disasters - lightning, fire, flood, etc., and foreign objects - liquids, insects, etc., entering its parts);
- The Product was used for commercial or professional purposes, but such use of the Product is not specified in the Product instructions or Product description;
- The Product was used after the defect or damage was discovered and the use of such Product caused further defects or damage;
- The product has been modified in any way (for example, clothing has been re-sewn, furniture has been repainted, furniture fabric has been re-upholstered, etc. any modifications)
2.4. In cases where, as a result of diagnostics, it is determined that the Product defects are not covered by the Warranty, the Service may request the Buyer to cover the diagnostic costs in accordance with the Service price list.
3. Procedure for delivering goods for assessment of non-conformity.
3.1. Assessment of the conformity of the Product with the contract, diagnostics and repair of the Product are provided through the Service in Latvia and abroad. If the Service is located outside Latvia, the Seller ensures the shipment of the Product from the office to the Service and back.
3.2. The Buyer must deliver the Product to Rītausmas Street 4a, Riga, after prior agreement by phone +371 20577992 or by e-mail info@lawood.lv.
3.3. If the Product is bulky or heavier than 20 kg, delivery of the Product to the Service or to the Seller is carried out by agreement with the Seller.
3.4. If the Product cannot be delivered to the office or Service for objective reasons (the Product is installed, built-in, installed, etc.), the Parties shall agree on the procedure for performing diagnostics through negotiations.
4. Product acceptance/delivery at the Service or office.
4.1. In the event of damage to the Product, we recommend that you deliver the Product directly to the Service, as this will significantly reduce the time for damage assessment and repair;
4.2. Before handing over computer equipment or mobile phones to a Service or Seller, make sure to save the data contained in it by creating a backup copy, as data may be irretrievably lost during diagnostics or repair;
4.3. The devices transferred to the Seller or to the Service may not contain the Buyer's or other persons' personal data, SIM cards or memory cards. The Seller is not responsible and does not cover the costs of recovering and restoring information contained in the transferred devices, nor does it ensure or guarantee the protection of personal data;
4.4. When returning the Product to the Seller or Service, the product must be:
- Clean (for example, the lawnmower must be cleaned of grass debris, etc.) so that the service technician can diagnose the Product without additional work. Otherwise, the Service may invoice the Buyer for cleaning the Product in accordance with their price list;
- In full package, which is an integral part of the assessment of non-conformity of the Product. Incomplete package of the Product may serve as a reason for refusal to accept the Product;
- Packaged, which allows the product to be safely transported to the Service, reducing the possibility of visual and mechanical damage.
5. Terms and conditions for eliminating non-compliance.
5.1. The Seller undertakes to eliminate the non-conformity of the Product or provide another solution as soon as possible, but no longer than within 30 days if the Service is located in Latvia or within 45 days if the Warranty is serviced at a Service outside Latvia.
5.2. If Service detects manufacturing defects in the Product, they will be repaired free of charge.
5.3. If it is not possible to eliminate the non-conformities of the Product, or it is not proportionate, the Buyer has the right to request that the Product be exchanged for the same product or another product from the Seller's available assortment of products, paying the price difference, if any.
5.4. If it is not possible to eliminate the non-conformity of the Goods according to the terms of the contract, and the Buyer does not choose to exchange the Goods, then the Buyer is entitled to request a refund of the amount paid for the Goods. In this case, the Seller, when calculating the amount to be refunded, in accordance with Article 28, Part Five of the Consumer Rights Protection Law, may take into account the wear and tear of the Goods or the benefit that the Buyer has gained from using the Goods.
5.5. The Buyer is obliged to collect the Goods from the Seller within 14 days from the date the Buyer received the notification of receipt of the Goods. From the 15th day, the Seller is entitled to charge a storage fee of 1 EUR for each day of storage. The Seller and the Buyer may agree on a different, specific day for the collection of the Goods, in which case the storage fee is not charged.
5.6. After 3 months from the date the Buyer receives the notification of receipt of the Product, the Seller takes possession of the Product and disposes of it.
6. Useful information for customers.
6.1. If the Product has manufacturer's instructions, please always read them before using the product. If the Buyer has not received the instructions for use together with the Product or by e-mail, immediately inform the Seller by phone +37120577992 or by e-mail info@lawood.lv
6.2. Purchased goods must be used for their intended purpose, following the usage and care requirements specified in the instructions for use. Excessive or intensive use of the Goods may accelerate the wear and tear of the Goods.
6.3. To ensure that the Product retains its good properties:
- The Product must be used with care, for its intended purpose and in the conditions in which the Manufacturer intended the Product to be used (for example, household products are not intended for professional use or in intensive conditions);
- The buyer must ensure proper care and cleaning of the product;
- Taking into account the functionality of the product, the Buyer must ensure timely replacement of worn parts, elements or accessories with suitable ones, if necessary, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions (e.g. dust bags for vacuum cleaners, blades for lawn mowers, chains for electric or petrol chain saws, etc.);
- If the Product is intended for self-assembly, it must be performed using only the product components, fasteners, and tools specified by the manufacturer.
6.5. If during the inspection you find that the Product is damaged, you have the right to refuse to accept the Product and return it to the Seller. In such cases, be sure to contact the Seller and inform them of the situation.
6.6. The delivery note/receipt for the goods is issued to you together with the goods.;

7. What are the differences between manufacturer's warranties for individuals and legal entities?
7.1. Certain products are covered by a manufacturer's warranty, as specified in the warranty card. The manufacturer's warranty is valid for 24 months for individuals and 12 months for legal entities.
